A toast to good taste - in wine selection and interior design.
When it comes to the design of a wine cellar, it’s not just about storage. It’s about creating an experience – especially when it’s situated in a luxury home.
This glass partitioning installation needed to do more than just hold bottles. The glass wine cellar needed to showcase the collection in a way that complemented its elegance and sophistication.
Of course, there were a few things to overcome before we could get that juuuust right. First, the space had to maintain the right conditions to preserve the wine, meaning the glass partitions had to provide protection without compromising the display.
Structurally, the project required careful planning. The ceiling didn’t cover the entire surface area where the installation was needed – it therefore needed a few adjustments to ensure everything was secure. On top of that, the cellar sat beneath a staircase, meaning the glass had to follow unique angles and contours. Luckily, we have a few tricks up our sleeve..
To achieve exactly what our client was looking for, the best system was banded glass partitioning. The bold, structured look of the framed glass added definition to the space, giving the wine cellar a high-end and bespoke appearance. If there’s one word for it, it’s classy.
With an uneven ceiling to contend with, we introduced bulkheads in order to create a level surface. These are fitted before any glass, reducing the height of your ceiling to ensure your glass walls have something to secure to. They’re very subtle, clean and have little impact on the overall design.
With our initial site survey, we ensure every corner of your space is measured accurately before supplying the glass. That way, we can ensure it arrives made to measure and avoid any hiccups on site that may cause delays. This was no different for this glass wine cellar installation, where the glass was ready to fit perfectly within the unique dimensions under the staircase.
The finished project is a glass wine cellar that effortlessly integrates into the home. The glass creates a striking design feature without overpowering the space. More than just a storage solution, it’s a statement piece – one that puts the client’s wine collection on display in the best possible way.
If you’re looking to create a bespoke glass feature – whether that’s in your home or your restaurant – we’re here to help. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team to discuss your project requirements.
