Creating London’s Urban Oasis with Acoustic Glass Walls

The Challenge

Having recently taken on a renovation project for their HQ, a luxury florist based in London turned to our glass experts for support. They were looking to divide a quiet office space that could be dedicated to administrative tasks away from the vibrant creativity of their floral design studio. 

With design and aesthetics central to their brand identity, they were keen to create a private space that supported their sophisticated style. The challenge of the project therefore lay in creating the perfect glass office that marries acoustic excellence with a contemporary edge.

The Solution

To meet our client’s vision, we suggested a fusion of two of our premium systems: acoustic glass partitions and banded glass partitions.

We started with 12.8mm acoustic laminated glass walls, selected for their exceptional sound insulation properties. This was the perfect type of glass to ensure their new office remained undisturbed by the busy activities of their floral studio. This choice ensured a healthy volume of natural light could still flow in, unlike traditional partitioning where the office would appear small and dull. The glass was safety toughened for safety reasons.

To this, we then added a black banding (RAL 9005) across the glass panes. This was achieved using 3mm UPVC banding to create a distinctive cross-hatch pattern across the panels, adding that contemporary touch our client was looking for.

The aluminium framed glass door featured a black lever handle and hydro side-opening hinges to match the modern banding.

We successfully delivered a bespoke glass partitioning solution that met our client’s acoustic requirements and celebrated their commitment to design excellence. The result is a private office space that supports the florist’s operations.
