We transformed this home office with banded glass partitioning for a light and airy workspace. Check out the finished project!
Following the pandemic, many of us have found a new way of working, converting space in our houses into home offices. Our client, an interior designer, came to Glass Partitioning UK with an exact vision of what they wanted their work-from-home space to look like.
During installation, our team faced a few challenges. As our homes are incredibly personal, we wanted our client’s project to be exactly how they’d imagined it. That meant sourcing bespoke features that were beyond our more standard installations.
The home office was also positioned high above the ground floor, with no access for our fitters to install glass partitioning along the side as it overlooked the sitting room below. In order to overcome this, our talented installers had to think outside the box…
Whilst the majority of our glass projects are installed into workplaces, we do offer domestic glass partitioning solutions to refresh home interiors.
For this residential project, banded glass partitioning was perfect to let a healthy flow of light in and kept in line with the rest of the house decor. As an interior designer, the client had a very specific idea of what they wanted to achieve with their home office.
The banding, track and handle colours of the project used a non-standard colour (RAL 7039 – Quartz Grey), whilst the banded glass door used matching hinges in Anthracite Grey. In addition, the client specified that the handle needed to be longer and thinner than a standard Guardsman handle, making the project incredibly unique.
To install the glass partitioning with no access point, our installers constructed mini-scaffolding in order to reach the new area. We quickly and carefully installed a glass home office without disrupting or causing damage within the client’s home.
Once completed, the client was incredibly happy with the installation process, noting how professional and easy communication was, especially sourcing and fitting the non-standard elements involved in the project.
