The Challenge

The client came to Glass Partitioning UK with a project that was slightly different to our usual glass installations. As the workplace had a mezzanine floor, the client was looking to encompass this room with glass.

A main requirement for this project was for the new space to have high acoustic qualities. Our team needed to take this into account when deciding the right glass solution for the workplace and the budget.

The Solution

During the consultation stage, we clearly outlined the needs and requirements of the client’s workspace, as well as their business. Having discussed the benefits of enhancing the acoustics in the space, we installed an extra glass door to the client’s glass mezzanine, complete with a frame that helped to seal noise within the room and prevent it escaping to adjacent spaces.

Next, we used laminated, acoustic glass partitioning that acted as a glass wall around the client’s mezzanine floor. Laminated glass was important to increase safety in the workplace, for both staff and visitors. The acoustic glass provided a sound rating of up to 50dB, meaning the new space was perfect for private meetings or to contain collaborative sessions by preventing noise travelling to the room below. Once completed, the glass mezzanine walls created a bright and spacious office room. High quality and modern, the transparency of the glass ensured a healthy flow of light was still able to reach the new area.
