Double Glazed Glass Partitions

Double the glass, double the focus.

What is Double Glazed Glass Partitioning?

Double glazed glass partitions feature two panes of toughened safety glass that sit within a wider aluminium track. The space between the panes improves sound reduction, making it suitable for environments looking for better privacy or focus. Whilst on the surface, the system looks similar to single glazed glass – don’t be fooled! With a better acoustic rating, it’s perfectly suited to add privacy to offices, showrooms, mezzanine floors and more. Businesses typically choose this office partition when they need a premium, high-performance solution or when speech privacy is important.

What Does Double Glazed Glass Look Like?

Double glazed glass partitioning has a clean, professional appearance, like most of our systems. The transparency of the glass allows light to flow freely through the space, helping enclosed areas feel bright and open. The two panes of glass sit within a wider aluminium perimeter track which comes in white, silver, dark grey or black.

Once installed, you can expect a modern partition with a near frameless appearance – perfect for most commercial interiors! Plus, there are many ways to add privacy to your glass partitions, including glass manifestations or integral blinds, which we install neatly between the two glass panes. These blinds are fully enclosed to avoid dust build-up!

Key Features

There are many reasons to install double glazed glass in your workplace. Some of the key features include:

  • Professional installation with minimal disruption
  • Two panes of toughened safety glass
  • Glass thickness options of 10mm or 12mm
  • Wider aluminium track to accommodate the dual glass system
  • Optional integral blinds between the panes
  • Optional manifestation for visibility or privacy
  • Fixed panels or door access configurations

Are Double Glazed Glass Partitions Acoustic?

Compared to standard options, double glazed glass partitions are designed to provide noticeably improved acoustic performance. Standard fixed double glazed partitions can achieve up to 40-44dB of sound reduction. At this level, normal conversation is barely audibly and speech is difficult to interpret. If you’re looking for even more privacy, we can combine our systems with acoustic glass, increasing performance to up to 46–50dB.

As with all glass partitioning, the overall acoustic performance of your system will depend on the full design – including doors and sealing details.

What About Double Glazed Glass Doors?

Many don’t realise, but your door can often be a weak point when it comes to acoustics; noise can escape through the seals surrounding them, leaking into the neighbouring rooms. Our double glazed glass doors include a frame around both the door leaf and the opening, helping to reduce sound leakage around the edges. While no operable door can completely eliminate sound transfer, these significantly improve acoustic performance compared to frameless alternatives.

Door configurations can be tailored based on:

  • Acoustic requirements
  • Frequency of use
  • Privacy expectations
  • Overall system design

Our team will advise on the most suitable door solution to ensure the partitioning system performs as intended, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
